Contract: 6 months initially (with potential to extend or transition to permanent)
Rate:$125 - $150 per hour (negotiable for the right candidate)
Start: ASAPA great opportunity for a RPEQ Senior Control Systems Engineer to support a broad range of energy projects, including operational battery storage systems, wind farms under construction, and gas-fired generation assets in design. You’ll be part of a team driving innovation in energy, providing technical expertise across SCADA, PLCs, HMI, and OT systems while contributing to design reviews, risk assessments, and system integration for critical projects.Key Responsibilities:
  • providing technical support (in the space of Control systems, networking, HMI, SCADA and any associated OT activities) to the operational plants to the team of Maintainer Operators and Technical officer:
  • leading and contributing to the Operational Risks Assessment Activities
  • OT infratsructure patching,
  • Standard Operation Procedures development/verification
  • Management of change process: Reviewing and approving contractor suggested modifications, preparing Owners ITP and testing requirements
  • Participation in Safety in Design activities (inl. HAZOP, CHAZOP etc.)
  • Support Specifications development and standardisation activities
  • Supporting design reviews for the plants that are in design stage to ensure it will allow required level of integration with CS systems
  • Participate in OT improvement initiatives (cybersecurity improvement, building knowledge base, OT uplift)
  • Support updating and maintaining manuals, updating documentation based on actual design (as-builds)
What we are looking for:
  • 6+ years’ experience in control systems engineering
  • Strong knowledge of SCADA, PLCs, HMI development, and industrial networking
  • Background in functional/process safety and cybersecurity
  • RPEQ registration (essential)
  • Operational experience preferred; SEL RTAC experience highly regarded
