About the RoleAs demand grows across our Defence High Frequency Communications contract, Babcock is looking for an experienced Subcontracts Specialist to join our team at the cutting-edge of military communications technology. Based at our International Engineering and Technology Hub in Abbotsford, this role plays a key part in delivering the Enhanced Defence High Frequency Communications System (EDHFCS) under the Commonwealth's JP9101 Program.You'll be supporting all phases of subcontract engagement-from strategy and negotiation through to execution, contract management, and closeout. Your expertise will ensure compliance, drive commercial performance, manage subcontractor relationships, and help deliver mission-critical outcomes.   • Australian Citizen with a Defence Security Clearance (or the ability to obtain).
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Commerce, Law or similar.
  • Relevant experience in contracts, subcontracts, procurement, supply chain, finance or program management, preferably in a Defence context and/ or large corporate environment.
  • Experience of engaging with national and international customers and suppliers.
  • Strong experience in contract management, project management, mobilising new projects and negotiation with proven track record of successful management of suppliers and maximising cost savings.
  • Commercial Defence or government experience (desirable).
