This is a full time, ongoing position, 8.00am-4.30pm Monday to Friday.The OpportunityWe are seeking a candidate who genuinely enjoys working with students, values relationships, and brings patience and a positive energy to their daily work. As the first point of contact for students, families and visitors, our school Receptionist plays a vital part in creating a warm and calm atmosphere within the school. From liaising with parents about excursions, sport, uniforms or calmly responding to the unexpected, the successful candidate must be adaptable and able to adjust plans to address changing priorities. This is a fast-paced environment where no two days are the same.The successful applicant will communicate clearly and warmly and will demonstrate flexibility and adaptability. They will work confidently and independently, while also contributing positively to the school culture. This role is dynamic and forever changing due the nature of schools. It is essential that the successful candidate is proficient skills in Microsoft Office, as well as have a willingness to continue to learn new IT systems and student management system.Key Responsibilities - Serve as the first point of contact for visitors, parents, and students, ensuring a warm and respectful reception.
- Efficient running of the main reception and ensuring it is always well-presented and organised.
- Manage incoming calls, emails, and correspondence with professionalism and discretion.
- Receiving and responding to general queries about the school and redirecting queries to relevant people across the school as required.
- Greeting and assisting external stakeholders, visitors, and contractors and facilitating visitor sign-in and sign-out procedures.
- Providing general administrative support as required to ensure smooth day-to-day operations.
- Support the wider Student Services and Administration team as required.
About you - Demonstrated competence in Reception and/or Administrative support.
- High level interpersonal and listening skills with an ability to communicate clearly and demonstrate initiative in dealing with people in a variety of situations.
- Highly organised, can pivot at short notice and remain poised under pressure.
- Strong team player yet can work independently.
- Must display familiarity and proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Must have a strong desire to work as a collegial team member.
- Comfortable asking questions and approaching others for information.
- Uses initiative to troubleshoot or make decision.
- Previous School experience is an advantage but not essential.
