Job Category: Information TechnologyJob Description:We're looking for an experienced SAP S/4HANA Functional Lead (FICO) who can shape, deliver, and optimise our ERP environment to support the future of our business. This is a career-defining opportunity to lead critical finance system solutions, influence strategic outcomes, and mentor a high-performing team.As the SAP S/4HANA Functional Lead (FICO) at Downer, you will be pivotal in managing and supporting our SAP S/4HANA and ECC landscapes, with a strong focus on Financial Accounting and Controlling (FICO). You will lead the design, configuration, and delivery of robust SAP solutions that enable strategic and operational outcomes across the business.This role requires strong leadership, deep technical expertise, and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams, vendors, and senior stakeholders. You will be instrumental in shaping Downer's ERP environment within the RISE with SAP framework, ensuring solutions are innovative, fit-for-purpose, and aligned to business priorities.Key ResponsibilitiesSolution Delivery & Functional Leadership

Lead and manage the SAP S/4HANA FICO module across both project and BAU environments.
Drive solution design in line with Downer's business rules, standards, and strategic direction.
Prepare clear, high-quality functional specifications and documentation.
Maximise standard SAP functionality while minimising customisation.
Collaborate across streams to ensure end-to-end process and integration integrity.
Provide expert input during design workshops, testing, data migration, and reporting workstreams.
Guide and challenge decisions during Fit-to-Standard sessions.

Governance, Risk & Compliance

Ensure all solutions align with SAP standards and Downer's quality frameworks.
Escalate risks and design conflicts for timely resolution.
Maintain comprehensive documentation of design, configuration rationale, and technical decisions.

Stakeholder Engagement

Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders and external partners.
Act as a trusted advisor to the ERP Platform Manager and broader leadership.
Conduct knowledge-sharing and training sessions to build capability and adoption.

Team Leadership & People Management

Lead and mentor a distributed support team (including 32 partner support staff).
Promote a culture of innovation, collaboration, safety, and inclusion.
Drive continuous improvement in system performance and service delivery.

Customer Focus & Business Acumen

Anticipate and resolve customer pain points proactively.
Enhance system usability and business value through feedback-driven improvements.
Ensure SAP solutions support Downer's broader financial and commercial objectives.

What You Will BringEducation & Certifications

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Business Administration, or related field.
SAP S/4HANA Certification (FICO module) preferred.

Technical & Functional Expertise

3-5 years' experience in a Functional Lead role within SAP environments.
Proven experience in at least one full SAP S/4HANA implementation (Brownfield or Greenfield).
Deep expertise in S/4HANA FICO, with strong understanding of integration across MM, SD, PS.
Experience in RISE with SAP, BTP, BW/BO, ALM, Datasphere, CPI, and Fiori.
Familiarity with SAP Activate methodology and agile frameworks.

Key Skills

Strong ability to prepare functional specifications and contribute to technical designs.
Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement, and influencing skills.
Strategic thinker with strong hands-on problem-solving capability.
Experience working in an Onshore-Offshore support model.
