With a 20+ year mine life, world-class equipment, and a safety-first culture, Centurion is poised to set new benchmarks in underground coal mining-and you could be part of it from day one.About the Roles:We are now recruiting experienced Longwall Mechanical Fitters to join our foundation longwall crews at Centurion. These permanent roles will commence in November 2025, providing time for onboarding and preparation before the longwall starts up in 2026.State-of-the-Art Equipment:

Brand new purpose-built CAT/HBT Longwall System
Advanced Shearer technology
Remote Operating Cabin
New Monorail and Hydraulics Systems

You'll be responsible for:

Perform inspections, maintenance, repairs and overhauls on longwall equipment, including shearers, AFCs, BSLs, and hydraulic roof supports.
Assist with the installation and removal of longwall systems during panel moves.
Maintain and troubleshoot complex hydraulic systems.
Diagnose mechanical faults and implement practical solutions to minimise downtime.
Work closely with the wider team, including electricians, engineers and operators, to ensure seamless performance.
Maintain service records and log issues or repairs for equipment history and compliance.
Ensure compliance with all statutory and regulatory requirements and all Peabody and Centurion site policies and procedures.

About You:

Australian recognised Mechanical Trade Certificate
Proven experience with longwall systems in an underground coal mine
Solution-focused mindset with a strong mechanical aptitude.
Ability to work in confined spaces and challenging underground environments.
Committed to maintaining and promoting a safe work environment.
Team player with a strong work ethic and flexible, can-do attitude.

In addition to the above, you will have a genuine commitment to safety and demonstrate a sound understanding of risk and hazard identification. You will be an exceptional team member with a flexible attitude and sound work ethic.Training and Development:

The LifestyleThis position is offered on a 7:7 day/night roster and can allow for a residential (Moranbah), DIDO (Drive-In, Drive-Out) or FIFO (Fly-In, Fly-Out) lifestyle. Whilst on shift, you will stay in camp accommodation with all the necessary facilities - including gym, quality meals, recreation areas and more.
