We have the expertise, track record and qualifications to support any scope of work, even in the most remote parts of the world.Redpath Botswana is seeking experienced & talented Senior & Mining Engineers to join the team on the Jwaneng Underground Project. This role is responsible for the full scope of planning, scheduling, and engineering site activities from concept to completion. Key responsibilities include monitoring and reporting on production progress, ensuring quality assurance and quality control, and overseeing risk and safety management. The successful candidate will also play a critical role in building and maintaining strong client relationships through accurate project tracking and ongoing communication with stakeholders.Main duties and responsibilities:
  • Maintain the Quality, Environmental and Mining Records for the project.
  • Develop the short to medium term mine plans for the underground operation, ensuring all key mining physicals are achieved in line with the principles quarterly mine plan.
  • All aspects of drill and blast design are reviewed for execution.
  • All aspects of paste back fill design, reviewed for execution.
  • Provide support with managing and prompting efficient Corrective actions for non-conformance.
Key requirements:
  • Tertiary qualification in Engineering (Mining) or related field.
  • Underground time required is completed, to enable the obtaining of a First Class Mine Managers certificate of Competency or equivalent
  • Minimum 5 years’ underground mining experience.
  • Ability to develop and build client and contractor relationships
  • Sound knowledge of managing and implementing project developments.
  • In-depth and extensive knowledge and application of contemporary underground mining practices to maximize safety and productivity.
  • Extensive knowledge of safety standards and construction and maintenance implications and requirements particularly in relation to safety critical systems and equipment used in the construction of infrastructure.
