- End to end payroll processing and administration of entitlements for a client group of 500-650 employees on a fortnightly cycle
- Providing all payroll services and maintaining accurate records according to the relevant awards, agreements and legislative conditions and in alignment with policies, culture and values
- Providing exceptional customer service and advice via phone and ticketing systems. You will respond to and resolve complex enquiries and issues ensuring the provision of accurate information, and timely and effective resolution
- Processing new starters, terminations and payroll adjustments and administering superannuation and salary packaging
- Contributing to payroll reporting, payroll system checks, administration and process compliance for superannuation, workers compensation, single touch payroll and paid parental leave
- Interpreting and advising on payroll related acts, awards, agreements, policies and procedures.
- Contributing to continuous improvement including identifying opportunities to improve and streamline processes to meet business requirements that require technical or system solutions, and carrying out testing for all system upgrades
- Developing and maintaining currency of knowledge in the areas of best practice payroll, superannuation, salary packaging and entitlement administration
- Assisting, peer-mentoring and cross training team members as required
- Additional tasks to assist the broader team
- Demonstrated experience in processing payroll and managing complex payroll issues including interpreting Enterprise Agreements and related legislation
- Ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple and competing priorities in a fast paced, high volume processing environment
- A passion to provide high quality customer service to our teachers, principals, professionals and support staff in line with organisational values
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy with the initiative to problem solve, triage or manage significant issues
- Positive working approach within a highly collaborative team
- Experience contributing to payroll improvement or similar projects to deliver improved user service experience, process efficiency and/or improved compliance
- High level computer proficiency including intermediate MS Excel skills
- Minimum Diploma or equivalent qualification in payroll, human resources, business, finance or accounting, or equivalent combination of relevant experience and /or education/training
- Experience with Fusion5 EmpowerHR is highly regarded, but not essential
