About the role:The Program Manager, Infrastructure Operations & Projects is accountable for developing the technology and infrastructure roadmap, optimising the use of the cloud service platforms and meeting required performance benchmarks for cloud services and on-premises platforms and technologies. This role is to lead and manage the operations of the team and provide thought leadership and advice on cost optimisation for platforms and infrastructure within the departments.The role is also accountable for the team's delivery of technology and infrastructure projects as well as maintaining current platforms and technologies to meet production Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and refresh ageing and out-of-support environments.About us:At the Victorian Department of Health we want a future where Victorians are the healthiest people in the world. Providing expert advice on infrastructure cost optimisation, contributing to commercial negotiations, contract management, and financial planning to ensure value-for-money outcomes and sustainable service delivery.
Providing strong leadership and direction to the team, ensuring timely, budget-conscious, and high-quality delivery of projects, enhancements, and defect resolutions that meet or exceed stakeholder expectations.
Maintaining accountability for the performance, availability, and optimisation of operational infrastructure across data centres and cloud environments, enabling DevOps practices and ensuring robust network and platform support
Lead the development and continuous refinement of the department's forward technology roadmap, integrating emerging innovations and proactively addressing infrastructure-related risks to ensure resilience and alignment with strategic priorities.
Ensuring compliance with government, eHealth, and ETB strategies and policies, including adherence to the PDM and other endorsed methodologies.
Overseeing the end-to-end delivery of infrastructure and technology initiatives in accordance with the department's Project Delivery Methodology (PDM), ensuring timely, on-budget, and high-quality outcomes that support roadmap execution across both departments.
A relevant IT related degree or qualification will be highly advantageous to this role.
Certification in PRINCE 2 or other project management methodology is highly desirable.
