0437686029 adam.petkov-rothapfel@dffh.vic.gov.auPosition DetailsTHE ROLEThis role is part of a network of community workers and organisations that share the responsibility for working with vulnerable people to promote and support their wellbeing. Based in offices across the state and working across the Western Melbourne Housing Advice and Assistance Team, the role undertakes a range of tasks relating to the provision of housing advice and assistance that may include:
  • providing support and information on services
  • identifying and assessing Victorians' housing needs and their eligibility for services
  • providing assistance and support to clients in applying for social housing or bond loans.
The Housing Services Officer role is a client facing position which supports the delivery of the Department of Families, Fairness and Housing's housing program and play a vital role in supporting client-centered services to individuals and families who seek housing assistance or reside in public housing.Housing Services Officers are part of a network of community workers and organisations that share the responsibility for working with vulnerable people to promote and support their wellbeing. Based in offices across the state, the role undertakes a range of tasks relating to tenancy and property management and the provision of housing advice and assistance.Housing Services Officers at Classification 2 are fully competent across the assigned housing functions and apply well-developed skills in all areas. They may be required to be a local reference point in processes and procedures for less experienced staff and to will work in an environment under general supervision.ACCOUNTABILITIES INCLUDE
  • Assess client's needs and provide advice on housing options from a range of established policy, procedures and standards.
  • Prepare routine cases with well established procedures and represent the Department at Victorian Civil Administrative Tribunal (VCAT).
  • Apply early intervention strategies to sustain tenancies.
