The OrganisationThis purpose-led not-for-profit organisation supports communities across a range of services including housing, aged care, disability, mental health, and community services. With over 1,000 individual assets and housing tenancies, the Housing & Property division play a critical role in delivering safe, sustainable, and high-quality housing outcomes, as well as managing the property assets that allow the organisation to function and thrive.The RoleAs Head of Operations – Housing & Property, you will provide strategic and operational leadership across housing services, tenancy management, asset management, and real estate advisory functions.Reporting to the General Manager, you will oversee the division’s largest workforce, ensuring service excellence, regulatory compliance, financial performance, and long-term asset stewardship. This is a pivotal role for a senior leader motivated by purpose, impact, and complexity.Key accountabilities include:
  • Leading the delivery of housing services, asset management, and property advisory across a diverse portfolio.
  • Driving regulatory compliance and risk management aligned with Housing Registrar standards.
  • Overseeing strategic asset management planning, lifecycle planning, and capital programming.
  • Championing tenant engagement and delivering high levels of consumer satisfaction.
  • Partnering with growth and development leaders to optimise assets and support renewal and development projects.
  • Managing government, regulator, legal, and sector stakeholder relationships.
  • Inspiring and developing a large, multidisciplinary team through change and transformation.
About YouYou are an experienced senior leader with a track record of delivering operational and strategic outcomes in complex, regulated environments. Known for your resilience and ability to balance governance with innovation, you are motivated by purpose and the opportunity to create lasting impact. Ideal, will be existing experience within the social housing sector.You’ll bring:
  • Proven leadership of large, diverse teams, ideally through growth and organisational change.
  • Expertise in governance, regulation, and compliance, with the ability to navigate complex legal frameworks.
  • Operational and asset management experience, ideally across portfolios of 500+ assets, covering residential and commercial sectors.
  • Data-driven decision making, able to provide clarity and insights on asset condition, tenancy performance, and consumer outcomes.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement, including with government, regulators, and community partners.
  • Deep alignment to values-based leadership and a genuine commitment to social impact.
