An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Finance Manager – Commercial to join a large and established Australian industrial and manufacturing organisation. This is a pivotal role within the finance leadership team, taking on full P&L accountability for a $1bn+ division and directly managing a team of four highly experienced State Analysts located nationally.Reporting to the Divisional Finance Lead, this role will work closely with site managers, traders, and the executive team to drive financial performance, improve decision-making, and support the ongoing transformation of the business.Key Responsibilities
- Lead and develop a high-performing team of four state-based finance analysts who partner closely with site leadership
- Full P&L ownership for a complex national division, ensuring accurate reporting, forecasting and business insights
- Partner with state managers and senior executives to influence strategy and performance outcomes
- Manage cashflow, working capital, and commercial governance, including exposure to hedging and FX for international sales
- Oversee the monthly management cycle and reporting requirements, ensuring accuracy and insight
- Play a key role in business improvement initiatives, identifying opportunities to streamline processes and improve efficiency across finance and operations
- Support ongoing transformation projects and contribute to strategic initiatives to strengthen long-term performance
To succeed in this role, you will be a senior finance professional who combines strong technical foundations with commercial leadership experience. You will have the confidence and gravitas to influence senior stakeholders and lead an experienced team while maintaining a hands-on, business-focused approach.
- CA/CPA qualified (or equivalent).
- Proven background in commercial or operational finance in heavy industry, manufacturing, or industrial environments (essential).
- Strong track record of P&L management and business partnering with senior leadership.
- Demonstrated leadership skills, with the ability to coach, influence and engage a long-tenured and geographically dispersed team.
- Strong analytical and critical thinking capability, with an appetite for change and continuous improvement.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to build relationships across multiple states and sites.
