The OpportunityAs an experienced clinical professional, you will be instrumental in steering the clinical excellence and innovation at Northern Private Hospital. In this pivotal role, you will lead and inspire a dynamic team, overseeing the full spectrum of clinical operations. Your responsibilities will encompass enhancing clinical quality, strategic patient flow and bed management, proactive workforce development, service delivery and expansion initiatives, fostering staff engagement and development, as well as championing cost optimisation and enhancing both patient and doctor satisfaction levels. Join us in shaping the future of healthcare and making a meaningful impact on the well-being of our community!Key ResponsibilitiesYour day-to-day responsibilities will involve, but are not limited to:
  • Managing and supervising practical aspects of care delivery, including bed management, patient flow strategies, patient demand forecasting, and workforce management.
  • Ensuring systematic workforce planning and a commitment to the professional development of the clinical workforce.
  • Supporting growth, business development, and responding to business needs identified by the Executive team and Ramsay Health Care.
  • Liaising with the visiting medical officer (VMO) community, engaging to ensure the highest quality clinical care.
  • Planning and maintaining hospital and departmental budgets, ensuring budgetary requirements are met in consultation with other executive team members.
  • Assessing workplace culture and implementing actions to support findings, ensuring a positive workplace culture is maintained.
  • Managing Human Resources to ensure future workforce requirements are known and strategies are identified and implemented.

  • Function as a proficient clinical operator with a solid understanding of the private hospital legislative landscape.
  • Demonstrate sound resource management skills to ensure the efficient and effective functioning of all clinical departments.
  • Possess an understanding of the performance levers driving quality business outcomes and have experience in applying quality improvement processes.
  • Demonstrate a passion for the success and development of people, coupled with expert communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Bring senior management experience in the private health sector, leading organisational change and quality improvement processes.
  • Exhibit knowledge and understanding of clinical governance and patient safety.
Essential Qualifications:
  • Current registration as a Registered Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia.
  • Post-graduate clinical qualifications.
