- The overall direction of the Department of Women's and Children's Services with responsibility for providing effective clinical, financial, teaching and research services.
- Effective provision of evidence based, efficient inpatient and outpatient clinical care to patients of the Launceston General Hospital (LGH).
- The Launceston General Hospital (LGH) is a level 5 tertiary Hospital within the Tasmanian Role Delineation Framework. The LGH has 349 inpatient beds, 117.7 presentations to the Emergency Department daily, 5 births daily.
- There are many specialty services including general medicine, rehabilitation, neurology and acute stroke management, surgery and women's and children's services.
- The Department of Women's and Children's Services includes the children's ward, neonatal nursery, birthing and obstetric unit and outpatient services. The Department has a collaborative team comprised of the Clinical Director, Nursing Director, Clinical Leads, Nurse Unit Managers and professional clinical and support staff.

- Salary range is in accordance with Medical Practitioners Agreement 2022
- Provision of a fully maintained private plated motor vehicle or motor vehicle allowance of $25,758 per annum
- Continuing Professional Development Allowance of $16,000 per annum,
- Access to salary packaging
- On call is a requirement of the role, and an allowance will be paid in addition to base salary.
- Superannuation of 11%
- Relocation package and accommodation allowance available
