About the roleThis role involves helping to maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for our layer hens, ensuring they remain healthy and productive.We’re looking for Shed Hands who are reliable, motivated, and enjoy working as part of a supportive team.Daily duties will include but not be limited to:

Conducting feed, water and light checks, including general maintenance to equipment where necessary
Conducting environmental checks to ensure birds are comfortable
Conducting inspections on bird welfare, egg systems, and egg belts for ease of flow
General cleaning and servicing of sheds and equipment as required
Other duties as required

About you:

Live locally for call out purposes or prepared to relocate to the area would be highly regarded
Willingness to strictly adhere to the required animal welfare guidelines and regulations
Previous experience in the poultry industry is not essential, but would be highly regarded
Current valid drivers’ licence
Physically fit and capable of performing manual tasks
Strong inter-personal skills, able to work co-operatively with internal and external contacts
Good written and verbal communication skills
Must be reliable, punctual and motivated
Good attention to detail
Good organisational and time management skills, with the ability to carry out a range of different tasks

You may be required to work reasonable overtime to meet operational demands.
