- Develop and execute the annual business development plan strategy aligned with the company's global growth objectives, with a focus on expanding market share, driving revenue growth, and achieving annual sales targets.
- Identify business cases and prioritize primarily organic growth options within the region in alignment with overall APAC commercial objectives and priorities
- Own product, program, service and channel opportunity development within the APAC region, covering both wholesale and retail markets
- Lead selection and proposal of go to market partners able to accelerate, specialize or expand go to market plans
- Establish and monitor clear performance indicators relative to agreed business development projects and plans to ensure contribution toward revenue and market share goals across all brands and sales teams.
- Market Development:
- Partner with local commercial leaders to shape strategies that reflect competitive dynamics, regulatory considerations, and evolving customer needs.
- Conduct in-depth market analysis and business casing to evaluate sales readiness, technical readiness, and channel enablement decisions for business development opportunities, including go/no go or rank choices for leadership.
- Identify and capitalize on emerging market opportunities, adapt strategies to the varied regional market landscape, and assess new product offerings to align with customer and distributor needs and competitive positioning.
- Prioritize resource allocation to high-growth geographies and segments to accelerate adoption of URUS offerings across dairy and beef sectors.
- Collaborate with global development and region partners to source appropriate funding and/or co-investments to develop projects in accord with growth ambition
- Cultivate ongoing positive and productive business networks and relationships among industry partners (vendors, suppliers, associations, distributors) with potential to contribute growth
- Sales Enablement:
- Cultivate strong, long-lasting relationships with branded sales leaders, key distributors, value-added resellers, and industry stakeholders to build trust, drive loyalty, and reinforce our leadership position in bovine genetics, reproduction, and actionable insights.
- Support achievement of full potential market opportunities by improving quality of distributors and branded sales teams to enable successful launches of new product and services; this can be as resource to value-added reseller programs.
- Support development and performance through training and development initiatives (internally) and/or producer meetings (external) to drive growth
- Conduct product lifecycle analysis (e.g., adoption and growth curves) in the region so as to inform and drive promotional, incentive, and/or training tactics to reach growth ambition
- Project Management
- Utilize and contribute to robust business development function within URUS, including consistent methodology, criteria, stakeholder engagement, and decision processes are adopted
- Create appropriate contact cadence within the URUS APAC Commercial President and APAC management team to ensure a reliable and high-performance business development partner function
- Create and implement project charters, teams and governance to ensure clarity of goals, accountabilities of team members, efficient utilization of resources, and robust communication and alignment
- Oversee and report on relevant KPIs and targets while taking proactive corrective actions where necessary, including “fail fast” choices
- Financial Management:
- Oversee and manage business development projects and budget resources included in annual operating plans.
- Achieve regional sales and CCR budget associated with business development initiatives, either in conjunction with commercial business leaders or within own budget
- Collaborate with finance and supply chain partners to ensure financial rigor, risk mitigation, and adherence to global URUS guidelines.
- Cross-functional Collaboration:
- Work closely with product development, marketing, technical services, and other matrix teams to ensure that voice of customer needs are considered met and that feedback is incorporated into new products, services, programs and/or digital initiatives.
- Act as a key commercial voice in cross-functional product development discussions, ensuring market feedback shapes innovation and launch strategies.
- Partner with technical marketing and learning & development teams to ensure value propositions are well articulated, understood by sales teams, and resonate in-market.
- Facilitate alignment across brands to reduce duplication, improve customer experience, and present a unified URUS value story to the market.
- Be an example and role model of reliable partnership with key cross-functions including commercial finance, people, marketing and regional business development staff
- Collaborate toward global business development excellence with peers and marketing in other URUS regions outside APAC
- Compliance and Ethics:
- Ensure all business activities comply with legal, regulatory, and ethical standards and promote the company's values across the region. Take personal responsibility for completing all compliance and mandatory training and ensure that each team member meets these requirements as well.
- Model the highest standards of professional conduct and ensure regional leaders reinforce ethical decision-making in daily operations.
- Ensure full compliance with regional trade laws, animal welfare regulations, and corporate policies - working closely with legal and HR as needed.
- Monitor completion rates of all mandatory compliance training and ensure continuous reinforcement of a values-based culture in the region
- This role reports to the URUS Commercial President - APAC

- This role is to be based in the APAC region, with frequent travel expected throughout APAC
- Bachelor's degree in Animal Science, Agriculture, Business, or a related field; advance degree (MBA, MS, DVM) preferred.
- 10+ years of progressive experience in sales leadership within the agriculture, animal genetics, or livestock industry, with a focus in APAC
- Proven track record of achieving sales targets and driving business growth in complex, multicultural environments.
- Strong understanding of bovine genetics and breeding practices, along with a passion for advancing animal agriculture.
- Exceptional leadership and team-building skills with experience managing remote teams across multiple countries.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with fluency in English; proficiency in Spanish or French languages is a plus.
