- Prepare detailed and accurate estimates for electrical D&C projects, including materials, labour, and subcontractor costs.
- Review drawings, specifications, and project documentation to understand scope and requirements.
- Collaborate with in-house design and engineering teams to ensure seamless integration between design and cost.
- Source and negotiate with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain competitive pricing.
- Conduct site visits (when required) to gather essential information for estimates.
- Identify and assess potential risks, opportunities, and value engineering alternatives.
- Prepare tender submissions, ensuring compliance with client requirements and deadlines.
- Assist in the handover of successful tenders to the project delivery team, providing detailed breakdowns and supporting documentation.
- Maintain and update estimating databases and pricing records.
- Stay up to date with industry trends, material costs, and market conditions.
- Proven experience as an Electrical Estimator, ideally within a D&C contractor environment here in VIC.
- Strong knowledge of electrical systems across commercial, industrial, and/or residential sectors.
- Ability to read and interpret drawings, specifications, and technical documents.
- Proficiency in estimating software (e.g., Simpro, Expert Estimation, Conest, or similar).
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong attention to detail, analytical thinking, and problem-solving ability.
- Ability to work independently.
- Relevant qualifications in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field (preferred).
- Trade background highly regarded but not essential.
