Riverland Funerals has an exciting opportunity for an experienced General Manager to lead their dedicated and values-driven team!About the OpportunityAs the General Manager at Riverland Funerals, you’ll play a vital role in leading the organisation. This is a dynamic and rewarding position that combines strategic thinking with leadership. Working closely with the management team, you’ll help shape and implement long-term plans for growth, while ensuring the organisation continues to meet the highest of standards.Key responsibilities include but not limited to:
  • Develop and implement business strategies aligned with company values and objectives.
  • Ensure efficiency, performance, and alignment with strategic goals
  • Manage budgeting, reporting, financial systems, and ensure cost-effective operations and risk management
  • Ensure legal, regulatory, and policy compliance across all functions, including WHS and IT
  • Lead HR initiatives including recruitment, staff development, workplace culture, and employee relations
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with staff, partners, industry bodies, and external stakeholders
  • Ensure a safe and compliant work environment, promote a culture of safety, and manage incident reporting
About YouTo be successful in this role, you will bring:
  • A degree in Business, Management, Finance, or a related field (social sciences or healthcare also considered) is desired but not essential
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as a General Manager or in a senior leadership role
  • Strong track record in managing teams
  • Experience with budgeting, financial forecasting, and reporting
  • Skilled in developing and executing strategic plans
  • Inspires and motivates teams to work towards shared goals
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Builds strong relationships and treats everyone with respect and empathy
  • Being able to think on your feet and make sound decisions under pressure
  • Strong focus on policy and procedure
  • Calm, compassionate, and professional especially in difficult situations
  • Understands the sensitive nature of the industry and responds with care
  • Brings energy, optimism, and professionalism to the team
  • Must hold a valid driver’s licence.
