UGL’s Fuels and Energy East business is on the lookout for a talented Civil Structural Engineer to lead and innovate across brownfield and asset maintenance projects within the Fuels and Energy sector.Reporting to the Lead Civil Structural Engineer you will work with a team of engineers and designers to provide safe, reliable, and efficient technical expertise to the business.This hybrid role is based in our Melbourne office.Key ResponsibilitiesProduce technically acceptable standard of work and design deliverables. (i.e prepare calculations reports to ensure accuracy, conformance to codes, specifications, design criteria, and conformance to good engineering practice.Ensure the safety of designs through application of specialist expertise, standards, reviews, risk assessments and risk management.Detailed knowledge of Australian & International codes and standards, good engineering practice and the applicable statutory requirements with respect to fuel tanks & piping works.Develop innovative solutions to complex engineering challenges, underpinned by thorough technical analyses and adherence to all applicable codes and standards.Utilise software tools like Spacegass, 12D, and Civil 3D for design and analysis tasks.Capability and flexibility to handle multiple brownfield projects in restricted timeframes to support line of business and project goals.Ability to establish and maintain strong and effective working relationships with the Client, Key Stakeholders and the UGL Team.Site DutiesCarry out inspections, condition surveys and investigations on site to determine civil/ structural work scopes.Develop and provide design solutions to civil/structural issues on site.Provide technical advice and suggestions for improvement on projects.Liaising with Project Delivery Leads, contractors, and supervisorsAssist in the development of construction methodologiesAbout YouRelish Brownfield Engineering challenges and ability to provide Value Engineering.Self-driven and ability to deliver portfolio of small projects with limited guidance.6+ years of engineering design exposure, particularly in the resource, oil & gas, or petrochemical industries.Hold a tertiary qualification in Civil/Structural EngineeringHold Australian CitizenshipRegistered Professional Engineer (CPEng) and RPEQ qualified, would be highly regardedExhibit strong communication skills with a customer-focused approachWhat We OfferFlexible work arrangementsTravel and explore Australia as part of your roleCompany paid Salary Continuance InsuranceDiscounted Private Health Insurance.Dedicated wellness program & rewardsExclusive staff discounts across various categoriesCareer pathways within UGL and the larger CIMIC GroupAbout UsUGL Pty Limited is a leading provider of end-to-end engineering, construction and maintenance services.
