
Mining Engineer

- Ensure advanced mine design work is carried out accurately and in a timely manner.
- Assist with contract management where required.
- Produce and submit monthly progress claims in an effective and timely manner.
- Assist with facilitating the drill and blast activities on-site.
- Contribute to the design of drill and blast patterns and ensure drill and blast processes/practices are being carried out in the most efficient and cost-effective manner.
- Provide technical input into the planning and coordinating of blasting activities.
- Review drill and blast claims, sub-contractor claims and drill and blast design.
- Develop, enhance and maintain professional relationships with key client contacts and site personnel.
- Provide specialist technical input into team project work and input evaluation into reserve resource estimates.
- Liaise with management regarding new/available technology on heavy equipment on site and where change may benefit the business.
- Implement and review new technology on mining plant and equipment on site.
- Review of sub-contractor service agreements.
- Actively participate and contribute to the continuous improvement and innovation of work practices.
- Bachelor of Engineering (Mining Engineering).
- Experience in an open pit mining environment.
- Experience with Vulcan, Carlson and iVolve preferred but not essential.
- Sound knowledge of plant and equipment best practice and operational performance to meet production targets in a safe and efficient manner.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to analyse and show initiative and meet deadlines.
- A strong commitment to safety in the workplace.
- Current WA driver's licence
