- Recognised as a qualified practitioner with either full membership with Audiology Australia and a Certificate of Clinical Practice (CCP), and/or Ordinary membership with the Australian College of Audiology (ACAud) with competency in Hearing Aid Dispensary, and been issued with a qualified practitioner number.
- Broad clinical experience in primary health care including skills in planning, coordinating and decision making within a clinical audiology setting
- Strong organisational skills (prioritisation, realistic goal setting, adherence to time frames, reliability), and interpersonal skills, including demonstrated liaison and negotiation skills
- An understanding of the historical and contemporary context of Aboriginal health, the social determinants of health, and the philosophy and practice of Aboriginal Community Control;
- Demonstrated well developed written, verbal and interpersonal skills including the ability to communicate sensitively in a cross-cultural environment with Aboriginal clients and staff.
- Current drivers’ licence and a willingness, ability and appropriate levels of health and fitness to travel to and work from remote locations
- (Desirable) Post-graduate qualifications in public health.
- (Desirable) Is of Aboriginal descent; identifies as an Aboriginal person; and is accepted as an Aboriginal person by the Aboriginal community;
- (Desirable) Experience in remote primary health clinic environments.
