The CompanyOur client is a tier-one infrastructure developer delivering a large-scale, multi-year project of significance. With construction progressing across multiple work fronts, they are seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to support the commercial management of a technically complex civil works program.This role is on a 5/2 FIFO roster flying from Brisbane, Sydney or Melbourne on a 2-year fixed-term contract.For those who are open to relocation to a regional location, a relocation package can be provided.The RoleIn this client-side role, reporting to the Commercial Manager, you’ll take ownership of contract administration, commercial performance, and cost controls across a critical delivery package. This role will see you embedded in a dynamic project team with high visibility across the broader delivery program.Key Responsibilities:
  • Administer contracts, including variations, claims and payment assessments
  • Prepare accurate commercial reports, forecasts and cost-to-complete reviews
  • Manage contractor progress reports, surveillance records and site diaries
  • Collaborate with planning, engineering and procurement teams
  • Maintain a register of commercial correspondence and manage timelines for notices
  • Provide strategic commercial advice to project leadership
  • Support procurement processes and subcontractor negotiations
  • Mentor and support junior commercial team members
Your Background:
  • Tertiary qualifications in Quantity Surveying or Construction Management
  • Proven 1st tier contractor experience on complex civil or infrastructure projects
  • Deep understanding of contract models (e.g. EPC, remeasurement) and construction law
  • Skilled in reporting, risk assessment, variation negotiation and earned value management
  • Comfortable working in a high-pressure, site-based environment
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Familiarity with RMS/TfNSW standards is advantageous
  • Membership with RICS or similar bodies is a plus
