
Senior / Associate Geotechnical Engineer

- Lead and oversee geotechnical aspects as part of a project team and ensuring best practices are followed throughout the project lifecycle
- Scope and deliver geotechnical projects or components, including planning, budgeting, scheduling, resource allocation, and quality control
- Plan and supervise site investigations, including borehole drilling, in-situ testing (SPT, CPT, pressuremeter, etc.), sampling, and monitoring
- Perform geotechnical analyses, including slope stability, bearing capacity, settlement, liquefaction assessment, and seismic response. Design foundations (shallow and deep), earth retaining structures, ground improvement solutions, and pavements
- Prepare high-quality technical reports, feasibility studies, design documents, and specifications
- Identify geotechnical risks and develop mitigation strategies
- Nuture client relationships, attend meetings, and provide geotechnical advice and presentations.
- Mentor and train junior graduate / early career geotechnical engineers and technicians
- Ensure all geotechnical activities comply with health, safety, and environmental regulations and company policies
- Stay abreast of emerging technologies, software, and methods in geotechnical engineering

- Bachelor's degree in Geotechnical Engineering, Civil Engineering or Engineering Geology, or a closely related field (Master's degree preferred)
- Chartered or Professional Engineer status (or eligibility) is highly desirable Approximately 5-10 years of relevant geotechnical engineering experience, ideally in consulting, infrastructure, or construction projects
- Demonstrated expertise in ground investigation, geotechnical analysis, and design of foundations, earthworks, and retaining structures
- Experience in soft-soil investigation and design for the conditions familiar to South-East Queensland are highly desirable.
- Alternately, experience in rock investigation and logging for deep infrastructure for likes of mining and hydro-power industries.
- Awareness and some growing experience in geotechnical software (e.g., PLAXIS, GeoStudio, Slope/W, Settle3D, LPILE, gINT, or equivalent)
- Strong report writing, communication, and presentation skills
- Proven ability to manage projects, budgets, and teams
- Valid driver's licence and willingness to travel to project sites as required
