The Environmental Regulation Division is responsible for striking a balance between protecting the Territory's environment and enabling sustainable development.The Division ensures compliance with the Territory's environmental laws by applying best practice regulatory principles across the regulatory spectrum, from assessment through to compliance and enforcement. We commit to being proportionate, accountable, consistent, targeted and transparent (PACTT) in providing our regulatory service.As the Manager Environmental Regulation, you will use your leadership skills and knowledge of environmental science, environmental management and regulation to lead a small team of environmental officers to effectively and efficiently administer the NT's environmental legislation.You will be leading your team in the assessment, approval and licensing of activities that may potentially harm the environment and undertake compliance and enforcement action to ensure environmental safeguards are met.You will be responsible for the timely delivery of the Division's priorities for your team and enable the team to regulate in line with the Division's annual Compliance Plan and Compliance and Enforcement Framework.As Manager Environmental Regulation you will be providing guidance and feedback to officers and supporting the team's professional development, as well as providing specialist advice.To be successful, you will have proven leadership experience, and significant experience in environmental science, management and/or auditing/compliance and regulation.
