This Advert is for 4 x Ongoing rolesAbout the role:The Principal Developer is responsible for providing comprehensive application support, including system analysis, design, development, enhancement, and maintenance of domain-specific solutions hosted in cloud environments. Working closely with Product Owners, first- and second-level support teams, product vendors, and cloud partners, the Principal Developer provides third-level support to ensure timely and effective resolution of application-related incidents, problems, enhancements and service requests.About us:At the Victorian Department of Health we want a future where Victorians are the healthiest people in the world. Planning and participating in the transition of knowledge and application support from the project to the support team.
Undertaking application-related problem diagnosis, implementing problem resolution, prevention measures or continuous improvement measures as appropriate.
As necessary, liaise with IT suppliers to ensure application-related incidents and problems are resolved as per the agreed service levels.
Participate in disaster recovery planning activities including maintaining solution related documentation and technical recovery documentation as well as testing of disaster recovery plans as required by the departmental business continuity requirements.
Manage Post Incident Reviews (PIR) and Root Cause Analysis (RCA) exercises in conjunction with all key stakeholders and IT suppliers, and manage the related processes, including the translation of outcomes into traceable actions.
A relevant IT related degree or qualification will be highly advantageous to this role.
Certification in PRINCE 2 or other project management methodology is highly desirable.
Certification in ITIL methodology highly desirable.
Agile project experience will be advantageous.

Proven expertise in software design patterns, development standards, and application frameworks.

Experience with Object-Relational Mappers (ORMs) such as Entity Framework, Entity Framework Core, and Dapper.
