Reporting to the Head of Tax, you'll help handle all things tax-think income tax, product tax, stamp duty, GST, FBT, and some withholding tax too. You'll get to work side-by-side with experienced team members and connect with people across the business, tackling a variety of tax challenges every day.   • Prepare tax calculations for review by senior team members
  • Work with the tax team to ensure TAL always remains compliant for tax purposes. This includes ensuring that lodgements and payments are made on time, and in line with the tax lodgement program
  • Ensure all reconciliations are carried out and any discrepancies are investigated, explained and resolved
  • Test tax controls in accordance with TAL's risk management framework.
  • Assist with any Regulatory reviews by the ATO or State Revenue authorities as relevant
  • Work with the business on any rate changes that are announced due to legislative changes or through the Federal Budget process
Qualifications
  • Tertiary qualification in accounting, or a related field
  • Experience working in a similar role within financial services, advising on Australian tax matters
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders
  • Ability and willingness to learn new skills
  • Knowledge and experience of income tax as it applies to life insurance, preferred
