The facility employs over 500 employees, operating 4 days/week.About the RoleThe Townsville Plant is a fast-moving, high-volume food manufacturing facility where short and long-term plant availability, reliability and capability is a priority. Following safe work practices and procedures, the Boiler Attendant is responsible for the safe and efficient operation, monitoring and basic maintenance of two steam generating boilers, steam distribution system and hot water systems and equipment.Working Hours: Rotating Day and Night shiftYour key responsibilities will include:
  • Operation of the plant's coal and oil-fired boilers
  • Operation, monitoring, testing of boiler, condenser water and water treatment systems
  • Completion of allocated maintenance tasks
  • Completion of plant improvement initiatives
  • Keeping management informed of operation issues
  • Start-up, operation and shutdown of the coal and oil boilers as required
  • Monitoring and the testing of boiler safety systems
  • Testing of boiler water for conductivity and regulate chemical dosing
  • Other responsibilities as directed
About You
  • Queensland License High Risk Work Boiler Standard - Essential
  • Proven experience to undertake minor maintenance work on relevant plant/machinery
  • Ability to monitor equipment and adjust where necessary
  • Experience in the operation and maintenance of steam systems within a manufacturing environment
