The project includes the design, construction, operation and maintenance of the plant with first production in 2028. Works include marine works and tunnels, seawater intake system, a seawater reverse osmosis desalination plant, groundwater system, drinking water storage and pump system, supported by civil, electrical and bulk earthworks.Key accountabilities for the position:
- Provide expert guidance on employee and industrial relations, including conducting intermediate-level investigations, drafting comprehensive reports, and managing negotiated exits.
- Interpret and apply employment legislation and enterprise agreements, offering accurate advice to payroll on matters such as long service leave, superannuation, and ordinary time earnings.
- Support workforce planning and development by identifying talent gaps, advising on capability needs, and analysing workforce data to inform strategic decisions.
- Contribute to organisational design and change initiatives, assessing the impact of role and structural changes on business operations.
- Lead and align HR governance and strategy, ensuring job roles, capabilities, and salary bandings support organisational goals, while overseeing junior team members’ work.
- Promote a positive workplace culture, embedding diversity and inclusion initiatives, managing ethical decision-making, and supporting employee branding strategies.
- Drive talent acquisition and retention strategies, including sourcing, advising on hiring processes, and developing competitive compensation and benefits packages.
- Experience in an HR leadership role in a construction project or similar heavy industry environment.
- Demonstrated leadership capability and the ability to manage a team effectively.
- Capability to influence and drive change management through all levels of project leadership and operational staff.
- Highly proficient with employment law, regulations, and best practices in HR.
- Ideally, a bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
