HSE Manager - Commercial ConstructionThe purpose of the Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) Manager role is to ensure that the company develops, implements, and continuously improves its HSE systems in line with legislative and statutory requirements. The HSE Manager is responsible for maintaining compliance, driving a culture of safety, and promoting environmentally responsible practices across all projects, while aligning with company objectives, policies, and procedures.Key ResponsibilitiesClient ServicesRepresent the business professionally in all external dealings.Resolve client issues relating to HSE promptly to build strong, long-term relationships.Communicate HSE compliance requirements to trade contractors and stakeholders.Support the resolution of Industrial Relations matters as required.FinancialProvide HSE input during tender, design, and construction phases.Assist with budget preparation and manage the HSE departmental budget.Advise on cost-effective HSE solutions that reduce risk and injury.Oversee injury reporting and ensure required notifications are lodged.Monitor and report against project HSE budgets and expenditure.Project DeliveryAttend pre-start meetings and define HSE responsibilities for projects.Develop site management plans and ensure legal compliance.Conduct regular site inspections and follow up on issues.Provide weekly and monthly HSE reporting to senior management.Ensure all HSE documentation is completed and archived at project close.Learning and DevelopmentDeliver training for site teams on current HSE legislation and best practices.Provide in-house training across all areas of HSE.Conduct project close-out reviews to drive continuous improvement.Review project outcomes and feedback into business processes.Systems and Continuous ImprovementEnsure compliance with company HSE management systems.Lead regular reviews of HSE performance and systems.Represent the organisation during audits and inspections.Manage the Non-Conformance Improvement (NCI) system.Recruit, lead, and support HSE team members.Induct new employees into HSE systems and requirements.Continuously improve processes for safer, more sustainable outcomes.Knowledge & ExperienceTertiary qualifications in Health, Safety & Environment or a related field.Minimum 5 years' construction industry experience in HSE roles.Strong working knowledge of WHS legislation, codes of practice, and industry standards.Qualifications in auditing and training (desirable).High level of computer literacy and familiarity with HSE systems.What's on OfferSenior leadership role with direct impact across all projects.Opportunity to shape and drive safety culture across the business.Supportive leadership team and collaborative project environment.Competitive remuneration package.For more information, please call Adam Penny 0488 723 936Apply now by clicking the apply button below, or for a confidential discussion, reach out to Adam Penny via email at apenny@frontlineconstruction.com.au.
