About the DepartmentDFAT's Office of Southeast Asia (OSA) requires data engineering, data science and data architecture skills to support development greater data capability in the Department and supporting a 'data-informed diplomacy' capability.About the RoleThe successful candidate will drive OSA's understanding of data to inform policy and program work, including providing advice on best practice data collection, data integrity, data interpretation and representation.Key Duties
Maintain and develop data systems to support DFAT's 'data informed diplomacy' objectives including:
scoping and development of relevant data sources, open source and official
scoping and building of data models, working with a PowerBI developer
maintenance and extension of scripts/tools for ETL, data wrangling, data cleaning and robust data syncing, utilising Python and other tools
Data analysis and visualisation
Maintain and develop AI tool(s) to support policy analysis including;
maintenance and extension of a project for the summarisation and further analysis of open-source (news) and official material (Python, OpenAI, Azure)
subject to stakeholder engagement, expand or fork the tool for other use cases
fulfil documentation requirements.
