This federal government agency is seeking a highly experienced Workforce Strategy & Capability Lead – ICT (EL1) to shape and implement innovative workforce strategies within their ICT division. This is a unique opportunity to lead talent management initiatives that drive capability uplift and long-term workforce planning.About the Role
As the Strategic Talent Lead, you will lead strategic workforce planning, have a strong understanding of recruitment needs for changing technology's, retention and performance management initiatives.
You will play a key role in aligning workforce capability with organisational goals and enhancing leadership and succession planning frameworks.Key Responsibilities
  • Build relationships with stakeholders to understand business areas and drive performance and talent strategies
  • Identify, prioritise, and build organisational capabilities, structures, and behaviours in line with best practice
  • Lead division-wide talent and development planning, including leadership capability and succession planning
  • Diagnose performance gaps and address them through redesign, coaching, training, and process improvement
  • Analyse workforce trends to forecast future ICT labour needs
  • Support the creation of development programs for roles such as Product Owner and Senior Responsible Owner
  • Promote sharing of best practices to support ongoing improvement
  • Align performance and reward strategies to foster a culture of innovation and accountability
  • Coach senior leaders on communication, feedback, and team effectiveness
  • Collaborate with the Enterprise Transformation Group’s Talent team
  • Undertake additional duties as directed by the Director, IT PMO
What We’re Looking For
  • Proven experience in talent management, organisational development, and strategic workforce planning
  • Strong understanding of APS recruitment, risk management, and performance frameworks
  • Demonstrated ability to influence and support senior leadership
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and organisational design skills
  • Baseline clearance required
  • Relevant qualifications in HR, Government or Organisational Design (desirable)
  • Must be an Australian citizen and politically neutral
