- A relevant tertiary degree in Psychology, Social Work, Counselling or Psychotherapy
- Demonstrated experience working as a school counsellor or in a similar role
- Demonstrated experience in supporting students with complex needs
- Good knowledge and understanding of diversity of the student population and school community (e.g. CALD, ATSI, disadvantage, disability, giftedness etc) and principles and practices for inclusion
- Proven capacity to respond effectively to critical incidents involving students
- Demonstrated strong communication and collaboration skills
- Understanding of legal, ethical and professional responsibilities and how to apply them in a school setting
- Appropriate qualifications
- Excellent written English and effective interpersonal communication skills
- Excellent technological literacy across a range of applications
- Current First Aid qualifications, or willingness to obtain
- A valid ACT Working with Vulnerable People Card
- A current National Police Check; and
- Full working rights within Australia
