Situated in the beautiful Northern Beaches of Sydney, our School has developed an enviable reputation for its standards and achievements; emphasising academic excellence, pastoral care, and growth in Christian faith and values.We have an opportunity for a Counsellor (Graduate or Senior) to join our dedicated Senior School Counselling team, in a part-time capacity for two days per week.About you:Reporting to the Dean of Students, our School Counsellors are responsible for providing quality counselling services to our students as part of our counselling team. Particular emphasis is placed on supporting senior school students’ wellbeing to enable them to achieve their social, emotional and academic goals.Applicants must: - have a current NSW Working with Children Check.
- have Counselling qualifications (Bachelors Degree or Masters).
- be a person of Christian faith who will support the ethos and activities of the school.
- School experience is preferred but not essential.
Criteria and personal attributes: - A strong understanding of the professional body’s ethical and legal requirements, especially in relation to working within a school setting.
- Experience in providing evidence based interventions with children and young people, individually and in groups.
- Ability to work independently with limited supervision and manage caseloads.
- Experience and ability to respond appropriately in crisis situations and to students presenting with complex needs.
- Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work within the School wellbeing team.
