We are seeking a proven Quality Manager who has successfully built and embedded quality management systems in complex, large-scale energy projects - particularly where the principal contractor or client had no/limited established processes in place.Why this role mattersFor more than 100 years, Tasmania has been powered by hydroelectric energy. As we enter a new era of investment, the West Coast Scheme Refurbishment Program will overhaul four of the state's largest generating units (~100 MW each). This multi-year, multi-site initiative will modernise turbines, upgrade controls, and deliver lasting reliability and efficiency for the state's energy future.Your leadership in quality will ensure that we don't just deliver assets - we deliver world-class outcomes.About the RolePioneering Quality in Complex ProjectsDrawing on profiles such as Quality System, Audit & Improvements Management and Documentation Leadership, this role is about creating, not inheriting, systems. You will be expected to implement quality management and document control frameworks across design, manufacturing, and commissioning, ensuring alignment with ISO and industry standards.You will:
- Develop and embed a comprehensive, project-wide quality framework from the ground up.
- Lead quality planning and assurance across design, manufacturing, fabrication, installation, and commissioning.
- Establish inspection/test strategies and oversee third-party QA/QC teams.
- Ensure compliance with Australian and international standards including ISO 9001, 14001, and 45001.
- Build document management and reporting systems that set new standards for transparency and accountability.
- Identify risks early and implement proactive quality mitigation strategies.
- Coordinate inspections, audits, and sign-offs with contractors, regulators, and stakeholders.
- Create lasting frameworks for future projects through continuous improvement.More information can be found on the attached Position Description:Who You AreYou are a strategic quality leader who has successfully delivered on large-scale EPC or energy infrastructure initiatives - especially in environments where quality systems had to be established from the ground up.You bring:
- Proven success establishing and leading quality management frameworks in major energy infrastructure projects.
- Experience working with principal contractors where formal quality processes were initially absent.
- Expertise in guiding teams of QA/QC professionals, both internal and external.
- Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills, able to bring contractors, engineers, and regulators into alignment.
- Practical experience across design, manufacture, and commissioning in high-complexity projects.
