- Manage portfolio of litigated matters.
- Provide support, guidance, and supervision to a team of paralegals and cross-functional teams.
- Carriage of files independently and/under supervision.
- Advise clients on legal issues.
- Arrange interviews, and meetings with clients, witnesses, and other relevant parties.
- Draft, proofread, and finalise legal documents, statements of claim, pleadings and correspondence, ensuring accuracy and adherence to legal standards.
- Prepare cases for court by conducting investigation, undertaking research, arranging witness preparation and attendance and giving notice of court actions.
- Negotiate claims and settlements with various insurers and third parties to achieve favorable outcomes.
- Make court appearances, including pre-trial reviews and hearings.
- Time management skills and proven ability to handle multiple active matters.
- Problem-solving ability and ability to think laterally.
- Ensure litigation files are up to date and prepare for any upcoming court events.
- Providing reports and updates as required.
- Current practicing certificate (essential).
- 1-3 years post-admission experience in the motor vehicle property and hire car recovery practice area (desirable)
- Litigation experience not only NSW but in other states is preferred, but not essential.
- Strong understanding of the applicable legal principles and case law.
- Excellent legal research and analytical skills.
- Able to uphold and maintain professional ethics when managing cases and dealing with clients/ customers.
- Ability to take ownership of your work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
- Ability to think creatively to achieve tasks and meet targets.
