- Assist students in establishing, building, and making informed decisions to create appropriate career pathways.
- Develop and maintain networks between industry, tertiary institutions, and the CGS community to ensure students have access to relevant and current career information.
- Provide a careers education framework to Middle and Senior School staff to help students clarify and achieve their career goals.
- Advise and support Middle and Senior School students on subject selection, course options, and career choices.
- Implement a holistic student futures program that actively engages both students and parents.
- Build partnerships with industry and external organisations to expand opportunities for industry-based learning.
- Support the design and delivery of the Year 10 Student Futures Program on a biannual basis.
- Coordinate the CGS Career Expo and alumni initiatives as part of National Careers Week.
- Provide one-on-one counselling for Middle School students transitioning to Senior School.
- Offer ongoing one-on-one career counselling for Senior School students, including targeted support for Year 12 students during change of preference periods.
- Identify and introduce innovative ways to deliver up-to-date career information and strengthen connections within the school community and with external partners.
- Model best practice, excellent interpersonal skills, and effective collaboration within a high-performing team.
- Demonstrate and uphold the Caulfield Grammar School values and behaviours in all interactions.
- Hold an accredited career development qualification as outlined in the Career Industry Council of Australia (CICA) Professional Standards for Career Development Practitioners, or equivalent.
- Demonstrated experience working in a secondary school environment.
- Up-to-date knowledge of Australian and international university selection procedures, a broad range of tertiary study options, and alternative post-secondary pathways.
- Working knowledge of the VTAC application process.
- Understanding of how a school develops and implements its Careers Curriculum in alignment with its values and vision, or prior experience in designing and delivering such a program.
- Strong organisational skills, excellent attention to detail, and highly developed communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proven experience and enthusiasm for working with young people to help them identify and achieve their study and career goals.
- Current Employment Working With Children Check or VIT registration.
- Accreditation as a Morrisby-approved practitioner, or willingness to undertake the required training.
