A recognised commercial organisation is currently looking for a proactive Assistant Accountant on a 6-8 weeks temporary basis to join their close knit finance team based in South Yarra. They have a dynamic work culture, offering hybrid work environment and a fantastic work life balance.You will report to the Senior Financial Accountant.Your responsibilities:
- Overall responsible for ensuring the accurate completion of the general ledger on a monthly and annual basis to allow the preparation of monthly financial statements
- Responsible with the completion of the balance sheet and bank reconciliations on a weekly basis.
- Working closely with the team for budgeting, forecasting and month end reporting.
- Supporting the Senior Financial Accountant with audits - collating all the documents and finding any variances.
- Undertake ad hoc projects / duties as required to support the team
- 4-5 year's experience in a similar or related role preferred
- Relevant Accounting / Finance qualifications, studying towards CA or CPA helpful
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, able to manage and build relationships with both internal and external stakeholders
- Ability to meet strict deadlines
- Ability to use initiative and be proactive
