
Data and AI Governance Lead

- Develop strategies and action plans to promote awareness, literacy and encourage investment in opportunities for maturing data and AI governance practices.
- Drive capability and maturity assessment initiatives to improve data quality and resolve data governance-related issues.
- Regularly review and update governance protocols and policies to reflect changes in laws, regulations, and technology best practices.
- Ensure all data and AI projects adhere to ethical guidelines, respect privacy standards, and comply with local and international data protection legislation.
- Advise on ethical considerations concerning data and AI deployment, ensuring alignment with public values and interests.
- Monitor data quality, implementing measures to ensure accuracy, consistency, and reliability of data used in decision-making processes.
- Identify and evaluate risks associated with data and AI practices, providing strategic guidance to mitigate potential issues.
- Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to promote understanding and adherence to data and AI governance frameworks.
- A tertiary qualification in Data Science, Computer Science, Information Technology, Law, or a related field.
- Demonstrated experience in data governance, data lifecycle management, AI ethics, or a related area.
- Proficiency in relevant legislation, such as the Information Privacy Act 2009 (QLD) and other data protection laws.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
