- Take the lead on engineering for our scaling Payroll platform, which is used by more than one million people every month, processing $150 billion dollars worth of wages every year.
- Mentor and inspire your Delivery Leads, giving them the vision and tools to iterate and scale our already successful product.
- Unify our squads through the creation of an innovative, high-performance culture with effective fit-for-purpose ways of working.
- Ensuring platform uptime and performance - exceed documented Service level agreements of platform uptime driven through strategic initiatives.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration - build a strong partnership with Product Management to align engineering efforts with business goals and customer needs.
- Team Leadership & Development - lead and develop a large, geographically diverse engineering team, fostering a culture of collaboration, growth, and high performance, and enabling leaders to develop strong, diverse teams.
- Technical & Domain Expertise - engage in deep technical discussions with stakeholders, leveraging knowledge of the payroll domain and ensuring compliance in highly regulated environments.
- Stakeholder Engagement - build trusted partnerships with business and technical stakeholders, acting as a champion for software engineering best practices and driving platform excellence.
- Continuous Improvement - identify and implement efficiency and quality improvements, inspiring teams to embrace change and drive operational excellence.
- Extensive experience in Senior Engineering Management position, ideally of a large (50+ person) geographically diverse Engineering team.
- A background of working in highly regulated or compliance driven business environments.
- Knowledge of and advocate for Software Engineering best practices.
- Experience working within a high-growth and fast-moving environment, particularly if it's a SaaS product.
- Ability to mentor team members and drive development and capabilities within the team.
- Deep experience working with business stakeholders, developing strong trust and partnerships, with an ability to involve yourself in deep technical and business domain discussions.
