Our purpose is to inspire healthier lives and we are well on our way to achieving this with our membership base exceeding 600,000 people and continuing to grow.Our team is dynamic, fast-paced and they help to make Australia healthier in their roles every day!The Role:Reporting to the People and Culture Manager, the Head of Learning & Development is responsible for the creation and delivery of tailored training programs. Designed with leadership, management, business and personal progression, and best practice in mind, you will be responsible for expanding on the talents and skills of all employees across all levels at CWG. All L&D activities should be focused on helping employees understand and work towards CWG’s goals and long-term success. you may also be required to work with multiple key stakeholders to create content.Day to day will include:For CWG and in a supportive capacity to its franchise network:
  • Create training programs that are aligned with CWG’s strategic objectives
  • Work closely with various leaders across the business to design curriculums for all employees that focus on core values, strategic imperatives, upskilling requirements, and just-in-time learning
  • Provide curriculums that incorporate different styles of training techniques, including e-learning, tutorial sessions, coaching, or job-shadowing
  • Assist managers to develop their team members through career pathing
  • Evaluate individual and organisational development needs as well as assess the success of development plans to help employees make the most of learning opportunities
  • Create capability matrix and regular report functions
  • Liaise with other managers to ascertain training requirements and budgets, as well as tracking budgets and negotiating contracts
  • Facilitate the development requirements of employees through performance management systems
  • Support staff and management with tailored learning opportunities during operational change
  • Build relationships with third-party training providers to ensure that CWG has access to the most fit-for-purpose L&D technology available
  • Maintain current knowledge of L&D innovation, best practices, and future trends
  • Engage with the company about ongoing development programs aligned with our core pillars
  • Support P&C with day to day admin to inform/celebrate/advise the company as needed
Learning and Development Strategy:
  • In collaboration with the People and Culture Manager, design and communicate an L&D plan that targets the skills and talents of our network and meets the strategic goals of the respective business units
  • Lead and implement the approved L&D plan, utilising training support roles for each brand to drive wide-scale execution
  • Maintain awareness of the L&D landscape relevant to the franchise and fitness industries and make ongoing tweaks to L&D initiatives to set our brands apart from the rest
  • Lead the leveraging of L&D best practice across the CWG brands
  • Work closely with various internal leaders to gain an intimate understanding of their units and training requirements
Content Review Creation and Rollout:
  • Evaluate and make recommendations about existing learning programs and support tools in each brand, with specific attention paid to learning outcomes and opportunities for best practice
  • Manage course development and learning initiatives in collaboration with internal employees and external providers
  • Be the centre of quality control for CWG and brand-specific training packages that are engaging and support internal learning aligned to the strategic objectives of the business
  • Frequently consult and collaborate with subject matter experts across brands and departments and source required information to develop relevant and contemporary content
  • Support and educate internal resources in the development of their content delivery and facilitation skills to better enable and empower them to be the owners of their training packages
  • Design and develop technical documentation/user guides when required
  • Lead an L&D team, and ensure consistent company rollout structure and reportability on ROI
  • Working with P&C to devise, implement, and roll out engagement programs that support CWG’s core pillars
  • Ensure all companywide instructions/announcements/programs are delivered in line with the STL business plan
Learning Management System (LMS) improvement:
  • Utilise our current LMS system Ignite, apply deep knowledge of the business operations and existing systems, the franchise and fitness industries and the long-term strategic objectives of the business
  • Create a user-friendly experience that adds value via in-house targeted, brand-specific training resources, courses and tools
  • Create multifaceted training programs and implement a tracking system to ensure cross-departmental completion
  • Be the business LMS owner and super-user, ensuring the usability of the platform, data integrity and utilisation are reviewed on an ongoing basis
  • Utilise Ignite to automate and streamline learning processes business wide
Other:
  • Participate as an active member of the P&C team, providing input on the strategic direction and overall L&D growth across the network
  • Demonstrate personal commitment to living the Collective Wellness Group principles: Own It, See It, Feel It, Do It, Together
  • Other projects and responsibilities as assigned
Experience and about you:
  • Minimum of 7 years of L&D management experience
  • Demonstrated ability to identify business learning needs which translate to a strategy and associated plans
  • Current knowledge of effective learning and development methods
  • Familiarity with LMS platforms and practices
  • Strong data development and reporting skills
  • Proven experience in large project and change management
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills; sharp business acumen
  • Ability to build rapport, collaborate and obtain information from various internal and external subject matter experts
  • Stellar presentation skills and ability to communicate effectively (written and verbal) to connect with, inspire and educate various stakeholders
  • Excellent time management skills and the ability to multi task in a time sensitive environment
  • Proven ability to represent a business with the utmost level of professionalism and integrity
  • Intermediate computer skills, i.e. Excel, Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, etc
  • Practical experience in the fitness and/or franchise industry is preferable
  • Bachelor’s degree (or higher) and professional training certification will be highly regarded
  • Ability to travel nationally as needed
