
Junior Sous Chef - Pastry

- Oversee the preparation and presentation of a wide range of pastries, desserts, and baked goods across multiple service areas
- Collaborate on the development of seasonal menus and event-specific offerings, bringing creativity and consistency to every dish
- Train, mentor, and supervise junior pastry staff, supporting skill development and high performance
- Monitor stock levels, coordinate ordering, and ensure seamless kitchen workflow and prep schedules
- Maintain strict food safety, hygiene, and allergen management protocols in line with industry standards
- Assist with food cost control, portioning, and waste reduction to support overall profitability
- Promote a positive, collaborative, and high-energy kitchen environment
- A pastry chef with proven experience in a similar environment, preferably within the hotel industry
- Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery or equivalent trade qualifications
- Strong understanding of food safety requirements, including HACCP and workplace health and safety (WH&S)
- Proven ability to manage staffing needs, plan and delegate tasks, and motivate the team to meet daily objectives
- Service-oriented with a keen eye for detail and excellent time management skills
- Ability to multitask effectively and communicate well with team members at all levels
- Flexibility to work a rotating roster, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays
