- Direct day-to-day food and beverage activities, plan and assign work, and establish performance and development goals for team members.
- Provide mentoring, coaching, and regular feedback to help manage conflict and improve team member performance.
- Educate and train team members in compliance with brand standards, service behaviors, and governmental regulations.
- Ensure team members have the tools, training, and equipment to carry out tasks.
- Promote teamwork and quality service through daily communication and coordination with other departments.
- Ensure appropriate staffing levels based on guest volume.
- Interact with outside contacts: guests, vendors, and other contacts as needed.
- Establish a sustainable onboarding and training plan for new team members and supervisors.
- Recommend and/or initiate salary, disciplinary, or other staffing/human resources-related actions in accordance with hotel or company rules and policies.
- Provide guests with information (example: loyalty programmes, area attractions, restaurants, facility information) to enhance guest experience.
- Analyse and action against client satisfaction surveys to improve services.
- Complete forecasts, plans, and productivity reports for management.
- Monitor budget and upsell products and services while minimising waste to increase revenue.
- Demonstrate awareness of WHS policies and procedures and ensure all procedures are conducted safely and within OH&S guidelines. Also ensure your direct reports do the same.
- Utilise the Escap system for reporting of faults and / or repairs needed for equipment, furniture or fittings.
- Demonstrate commitment to guest security and privacy with interactions that involve delivery
- to guest rooms, processing of payments and handling of guest property.
- Be aware of duty of care and adhere to occupational, health and safety legislation, policies and procedures.
- Be familiar with property safety, first aid, fire and emergency procedures and operate equipment safely and sensibly.
- Initiate action to correct a hazardous situation and notify supervisors of potential dangers.
- Log security incidents and accidents in accordance with hotel requirements.
- Develop awareness and reputation of the hotel and the brand in the local community.
- Coordinate safety and security initiatives to ensure meetings flow smoothly with minimal interruptions or problems. Coach and advise clients on meeting options and alternatives that potentially reduce waste, save energy and have a minimal impact to the environment.
- Part-take in weekly ordering processes while monitoring COGS and other relevant tracking documents.
