Our client, a large complex Queensland Government Department, are currently seeking a Delivery Lead who will be part of the Tactical Technical Solutions team, one of the three teams delivering the program of work.The ProjectGiven the scale of the department’s asset base and the breadth of information used across the organisation to manage all elements of the infrastructure asset lifecycle, there is a critical need to improve data quality, business processes, and reporting products.The two-year program of work will be delivered by three workstreams. The project team are adopting a product-based approach, and a three-month planning and delivery cadence. Their team culture is grounded in collaboration, continuous improvement, and mutual respect. They are adopting Agile and Lean methodologies to guide our work.The successful candidate will be accountable for the team delivering a prioritised backlog of work, as agreed for each 3-monthly program increment. To succeed in this, they will:
  • Build strong working relationships with business stakeholders, and ensure business priorities are clearly understood, agreed, and delivered
  • Facilitate quarterly planning, review and reset cycles, ensuring visibility of progress and alignment with business priorities
  • Enable the team to determine the best approach to delivering each item, balancing speed, quality and stakeholder needs
  • Share information with stakeholders including corporate ICT to ensure products align with enterprise directions and plans.
The technology stack being used will vary, depending on what products are being delivered. It will include MS Fabric, MS Purview, SQL, PowerBI, SharePoint. It is supported by ServiceNow, Jira, and the standard MS Office suite.The Tactical Technical Solutions team includes a PowerBI specialist with MS Fabric expertise, a Business Analyst, and a Graduate with PowerBI skills. It is supported by program resources including an Organisational Change Manager, a Project Support Officer, and a Program Manager. The Delivery Lead will be responsible for facilitating Agile ceremonies for the Tactical Technical Solutions team.While the focus is on technical delivery, the team may also address related workflow and process issues that impact business outcomes.An important part of the Delivery Lead’s role will be to ensure that the products developed by the team are successfully transitioned to Business-As-Usual. This may include negotiating support and maintenance agreements and preparing as-built documentation and knowledge base articles.The qualifications and experience that will be considered when shortlisting candidates include:
  • Substantial experience (5+ years) in similar leadership roles, ideally within the Queensland Government.
  • Technical expertise aligned with the technical stack specified, and a strong understanding of good practice and emerging trends in data analysis and reporting.
  • Strong communication skills, including the ability to express complex ideas in plain English and prepare clear, accurate documentation. The candidate’s statement of suitability will be assessed as a demonstration of written communication capability.
  • Agile experience (essential), and Scrum Master certification (desirable).
