Enjoy a better lifestyle.Centennial is seeking a commercially driven Senior Mine Accountant who's ready to step into a critical, hands-on role supporting operational and commercial decision-making on site within our northern based operations at Mandalong Mine.Conveniently located in the Lake Macquarie region and offering a great alternative to long commutes into typical Hunter Valley Mining hubs - this role is an excellent opportunity get involved in an Underground Longwall mining operation providing challenge and responsibility whilst enjoying the balance that comes with working and living closer to the coast.The Senior Mine Accountant is a critical member of the site-based commercial team, responsible for the delivery of accurate, timely and insightful financial information to support operational and commercial decision-making. This role plays an essential part in driving efficiency, compliance, and continuous improvement across the site.Reporting to the Commercial Manager, key responsibilities will include:

Leading the site's end-of-month close and financial reporting processes.
Providing detailed cost and variance analysis, with insights to inform decision-making.
Partnering with operational teams to improve cost visibility, identify opportunities and drive improvement.
Managing all aspects of fixed asset accounting in a capital-intensive environment.
Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities.
Driving process and systems improvements to help modernise how we operate financially.
Championing a culture of transparency, accountability, and commercial acumen across site teams.

Suitable candidates will have

A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Commerce plus CA/CPA qualifications.
7+ years' experience in a site-based heavy industrial or mining finance role.
Depth of skill in cost control, capital accounting, budgeting and reporting.
Desire and ability to identify risks, fix inefficiencies, and drive change.
Confidence in communicating and “walking the floor” to engage with operational teams.
Strong Excel and ERP system skills.
