With people at the heart of what we do and a commitment to child safety, ageing well and supporting people with disability, we work to increase inclusion, independence and decision-making, and help our communities when it matters most.About the BusinessOur Disability and Specialised Services Division provides valuable support to the South Australian community through direct service delivery, inclusion policy and sector reform work. As a registered NDIS provider, they supervise and help with everyday tasks to support people living with disability to live as independently as possible. The Division also encompasses quality and clinical services and the DHS Equipment Program.Role DetailsThe Information and Advice Officer is a role within the Exceptional Needs Unit (ENU) and is accountable to the Manager, Service Delivery for:
  • Providing sound information and advice to external stakeholders seeking guidance from the Exceptional Needs Unit regarding clients or families with highly complex support needs, who are experiencing risk and difficulties in navigating systems/supports.
  • To build the capacity of service providers working with clients by increasing their awareness and understanding of appropriate supports and services for clients with complex needs.
  • Issue referral forms for the relevant ENU pathway where formal support from the ENU appears appropriate.
  • Capture all referrals to the ENU, including data entry on various systems and databases.
  • Collate and distribute client information and referrals to be considered by the ENU Intake Committee, including attending Intake meetings and documenting decisions and discussions in minutes.
Special ConditionsNational Police Check required.

No formal qualifications required.
