Based in Carrum Downs, our company provides innovative flavour solutions to the food, beverage, and nutraceutical markets across the Asia Pacific. They are currently seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Quality Assurance Specialist who can take ownership of their quality systems and ensure their products consistently meet and exceed customer expectations and regulatory requirements.You'll be part of a team involved in developing and manufacturing a diverse range of flavour products supplied both locally and internationally.Tasks & Responsibilities
Oversee and manage the company’s quality assurance systems to ensure compliance with ISO, FSANZ, and international food safety standards.
Conduct internal audits, manage non-conformances, and drive implementation of corrective and preventive actions
Maintain and review Safety Data Sheets (SDS) and ensure they align with safety and compliance protocols.
Lead the development and continuous improvement of the Quality Management System (QMS)
Collaborate across departments including production, R&D, and regulatory to support consistent product quality and process efficiency.
Maintain accurate quality records, reports, and documentation to support audits and regulatory inspections.
Promote a culture of food safety through training, regular audits, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Ensure full compliance with customer requirements and applicable food safety certifications (SQF, HACCP, GMP).
Communicate with internal stakeholders and external partners to align on quality objectives and resolve issues promptly
Analyse trends and quality data to identify areas for improvement and support informed decision-making
Facilitate staff training in food safety, hygiene, and quality control procedures.
Experience & Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in food science, Microbiology, Chemistry, or a related discipline with a focus on food safety or quality.
Minimum 5 years’ experience in quality assurance roles within food or beverage manufacturing environments.
Strong working knowledge of FSANZ, HACCP, GMP, ISO 9001, and regulatory compliance frameworks.
Must have SQF Auditing Experience
Demonstrated experience managing audits, non-conformance investigations, CAPA, and Root Cause Analysis
High attention to detail with excellent organisational, analytical, and documentation skills.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively across departments.
A proactive, hands-on approach with a commitment to continuous improvement and a passion for product quality and safety.
