The Job

As Director of Internal Medicine, you will be responsible for leading one of the largest admitting teams in the hospital incorporating General Medicine and Geriatrics
You will lead strategies to support increasing access to specialist care closer to home for country patients through the development of sub-specialty models alongside a service planning team
Recognising the growing and ageing population of the region and the increasing prevalence of chronic conditions and frailty you will support contemporary, innovative models of care based on strong partnerships and integration
You will actively be involved in the monitoring, recruitment and retention of medical staff within the department, undertaking annual performance reviews and ensuring new medical staff especially junior medical staff are always appropriately supported and supervised
You will lead a culture of continuous quality improvement, research activities and lifelong learning aligned with the vision of the hospital teaching, training and research hub

Rewards

Salary package from $375,863 - $477,340 p.a. plus Head of Department allowance

Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of Physicians (FRACP) or equivalent
