- Attend kick-off and design handover meetings.
- Review tender documents including design drawings (preliminary, concept, detailed design, IFC, WAE, and redline mark-ups), scope of works, construction methodology, project program, specifications, reports, and other associated documents.
- Identify missing information from tender documents, create and populate a register of missing information, and discuss with stakeholders, designers, and the project delivery team.
- Prepare estimating and pricing activities.
- Perform quantity take-offs and produce bill of quantities.
- Source pricing from suppliers and specialty contractors.
- Follow up, help evaluate subcontract tenders, undertake tender clarifications, update pricing, and help finalise both direct and indirect target costs.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, estimators, and other stakeholders to gain insights into the project's goals and objectives.
- Use Candy estimating software to prepare first principles estimates.
- Attend internal reviews and present estimates for the project delivery team and management.
- Coordinate with project delivery team and provide appropriate responses to internal & external reviewers' clarifications on cost estimates.
- Prepare target cost related documents for tender submission.
- Relevant Australian Engineering Degree or equivalent overseas qualifications fully recognised as a Graduate member of the Institution of Engineers Australia.
- Ability to read and interpret drawings, specifications, and contract documents.
- Knowledge and understanding of project management in relevant civil infrastructure and water industry projects.
- Experience assisting estimators in the preparation of tender documents, particularly in the measurement of bill of quantities and procurement processes.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Understand (or be a quick learner if not experienced) the use of Candy/Expert estimating software (Candy preferred).
