The Head of Product & Supply Chain is responsible for leading strategic sourcing, supplier management, product development, and inventory optimisation across the national distribution network. This key role manages a team of six and reports to the Executive General Manager. With full ownership of procurement strategy, category performance, inventory health, and cost of goods, the role supports sustainable growth, better use of working capital, and strong supplier performance across a large and diverse product range.Key Responsibilities
- Lead national and international sourcing strategies to drive cost efficiency, reliable supply, and quality.
- Build and manage a competitive supplier network, including global sourcing, negotiations, and compliance.
- Lead inventory planning to balance product availability with cost efficiency.
- Drive inventory performance through strong forecasting, KPI management, and stock health governance.
- Manage supplier performance through scorecards, reviews, and strategic partnerships.
- Balance cost, quality, and compliance to meet customer needs and uphold ethical and sustainability standards.
- Lead category strategy, pricing, and product lifecycle planning, including new product development.
- Lead and develop a high-performing, commercially focused state team across multiple functions.
- Optimise systems and tools for demand planning and inventory visibility.
- Use data to improve forecasting and replenishment decisions.
- Continuously improving processes to boost efficiency and scalability.
- 10+ years' experience in a senior supply chain, procurement or strategic sourcing leadership role.
- Successful track record of managing high-SKU portfolios and intricate inventory environments.
- Category Leadership or management experience.
- Inspirational people leader with a passion for developing teams.
- Strong commercial acumen, including contract negotiation, cost analysis and margin management.
