
Manager, Engagement

- Working with the Executive and Engagement teams, as well as ACSI members, to set priority engagement themes and clear engagement objectives;
- Leading company engagements with S&P/ASX300 entities and delivering ACSI’s proxy voting research on Australian equities;
- Managing the preparation of research on individual S&P/ASX300 entities, including engagement alerts;
- Managing communications with ACSI members on voting issues and engagement via ACSI’s engagement platform as well as periodic reports;
- Undertaking and contributing to thought leadership and thematic research projects in line with ACSI’s strategic priorities;
- Liaising with ACSI members, investment managers and other market participants;
- Contributing to ACSI’s international activities including those focused on international equities;
- Assisting in preparing policy submissions and white papers;
- Supporting other areas of ACSI’s activities including communications, strategy and ad hoc requests from ACSI members;
- Participating in engagement with external bodies including NGOs and global investor networks.
- Keen interest in improving the governance, transparency and sustainability of investment markets and individual companies;
- Ability to identify corporate governance issues;
- Tertiary qualification in commerce, law, finance, or another related discipline and ideally 5 years+ professional experience;
- Ability to match sustainability issues to financial risks and opportunities relevant to long-term investors;
- Ideally, you will have experience within a financial institution, research team, company or a related role and knowledge of ASX300 companies;
- Analytical and problem-solving skills, with the capacity to produce reports in a user-friendly style;
- Ability to work within a small organisation with a flexible, co-operative and team-based approach;
- Excellent priority management skills, including the ability to multi-task and take responsibility for tasks/projects to ensure they are completed thoroughly and on time;
- A high level of comfort working in a membership-based, advocacy-focused organisation;
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
