- Lead, promote and actively engage with all staff and Contractors to cultivate a culture of safety.
- Develop, document, and standardise procedures, standards, and processes to drive efficiency and continuous improvement This includes overseeing implementation, monitoring compliance, and promoting adherence across all project activities and phases.
- Deliver and participate in contractor site Inductions, verify General Construction Induction qualification as well collecting and reviewing all Management Plans including but not limited to WHS, Quality and Environmental. Review Safe Work Method Statements from Contractors directly engaged by Capital Works Strategy and Delivery.
- Provide professional advice in the review, development and improvement of safety management plans, procedures, safety assurance, reporting systems and processes in consultation with Project management and other relevant stakeholders.
- Conduct Safety Assurance reviews on the Principal Contractors implementation of WHS Management Plans including on-site verification of the management of safety on construction site. Including working constructively with Principal Contractors to improve their on-site safety management performance.
- Prepare quarterly reports on current projects, including all contractor WHS, Environmental & Quality Performance, summary incident details, WHS statistics benchmarking within the industry, and outcomes from Safety Assurance activities and industry initiatives.
- Report construction site incidents, including injuries and assist in the analysis or investigation and close out of any incidents or hazards identified, including liaising, and obtaining the necessary information from the relevant project team member, the Principal Contractor, contractor or consultant.
- Provides project coordination support, including managing project dependencies comprising resources, timeframes, budgets, and month-end reporting, and supports standardising project management processes, implementing best practices and fostering accountability
- Demonstrated experience interpreting and assessing the acceptability of relevant safety management systems, as well as experience in the performance of onsite safety assurance activities 2. Knowledge of GC21 & MW21 NSW Government Contracts regarding implementation of WHS & quality requirements.
- Sound understanding of WHS Legislation and safety standards.
- Qualifications in a relevant discipline and/or demonstrated equivalent experience working in the construction industry.
- Current Driver’s License.
